Basic installation of the camera in the phone/tablet app – connection to router and Internet access

The standard installation requires a router with cable and wireless connections.

Please note that the router must be password protected when installing the camera via WiFi. If you have other units on the network requiring a password free connection you can create a password protected guest network on the router for the camera to use.

  1. Download the farmCam app from AppStore or Google Play. The app is currently only available for iOS and Android.
  2. Connect the camera to the router with the short micro-USB-RJ45 cable. If needed, use the RJ45 connector and an additional network cable of sufficient length.
  3. Connect the camera to the power supply.
  4. Wait approximately 45 seconds for the camera to boot up. Both the green and the red LED should have a steady light.
  5. Make sure your phone/tablet is connected to the same router as the camera.
  6. Open the app and tap the Add camera symbol
  7. Tap Search, select the camera in the list and tap Join.

  1. Enter your selected system name and the security code. The default code is 123456, and you will be prompted to change it. No special characters such as å,ä,ö,#,& and similar can be used. NOTE: Write down the new code! If you lose the code you will need to reset the camera by pressing and holding the cable button for a few seconds. The password and all other settings will then revert to default.

  1. For the camera you wish to connect, tap the Camera settings button.
  2. Select Advanced.

  3. You will be prompted for the admin password. This is a different password than the security code but it has the same default value (123456). There are two passwords since this gives you the possibility to give people access to the camera via the security code, but not being able to change the settings in the camera as this requires the admin password.
  4. You will now see the Advanced Settings Menu. Scroll down to find the WiFi section.

  1. Tap the WiFi text, select your wireless network router and enter the router password.
  2. Tap Back and then Save.
  3. Tap the Settings button again to exit the settings mode.
  1. Disconnect the network cable to the router and reboot the camera. Wait 45 seconds for the camera to come back online. The green LED will glow steadily when the camera has a network connection.
    • If the camera does not come online after 45 seconds (the green LED does not glow steadily) make sure the router password is correct and that the camera is close enough to the wireless router. Power the camera off, connect the short micro-USB-RJ45 cable to the router and repeat the procedure from step 10 above.
  2. Tap the camera picture. If the camera has not transmitted an image, the Connected icon below is shown. In that case, tap the icon and you will see the camera feed.
